Summary: Mathiesen is founder and owner of Alpha Captech. He has developed and verified the quantitative investment system that Alpha Captech will use to manage its investment fund. Previously he worked from 2002 to 2005 as a research assistant professor at Aarhus School of Business, Denmark. In 2002 he earned a Ph.D. in economics from Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. He got his M.Sc. in economics from Copenhagen University in 1996 that included one year of graduate studies at University of Western Ontario, Canada.

  • Since October 2022: Youtuber with YouTube channel HMexperience (at https://www.youtube.com/@hmexperience) and associated vlog website at www.hmexperience.dk. HMexperience is a vlog where Mathiesen research and talk about anything he finds interesting including economics, science, technology, politics, philosophy, cooking and much more. The vlog tries to focus on topics that has the potential to importantly matter for whether the future of humanity will be better or worse. In order to produce HMexperience Mathiesen spend about 10 hours per week making content. He also had to spend over 3 months full time teaching himself how to make the website and videos using new software including 1) WordPress and 20+ plugins for website building, 2) DaVinci Resolve for video editing, 3) OBS Studio for video recording, 4) GIMP and Photopea for image manipulation, 5) Inkspace for vector graphics creation and 6) a long list of other minor apps and webservices

I started producing it during my time as a Ph.D. student at Copenhagen Business School. From 1999 to 2013 it has attracted over 120,000 unique visitors and over 100 daily visitors.
